Protecting the health of workers from hazards arising out of employment is surely the core purpose of OSHA.

I think this question is pertinent, given the discussion is about requiring, mandating, etc.
Why has there not been a mandate to require flu vaccines? Do you differentiate between these two fatal (and infectious) diseases?

So you are equating? It is OK to lose 50,000 a year, take our chances, but Covid has gone past the number of deaths allowed, set by Marauder? What was your threshold number anyway, and how did you arrive at it?

By August 2021 which is when Biden directed OSHA to put in place the vaccine "mandate", it had long since passed the time when it was a public health emergency.

I leave it up to public health experts to determine what measures are necessary in the face of such an emergency.
