Should fast food be banned?

Can't the debates section be a little fun just once in a while.

OK fast food, as EVERYONE knows is unhealthy, we don't need any warnings to tell us that.

What people don't realise is that it's killing them. People know smoking kills, but they never think of fast food as killing them.

And yes, speedos should be made illegal on normal beaches - we should have speedo beaches like we have nudist beaches.

I think every one has seen on the news or the food channel that fast food gives you a higher risk for heart disease, cholesterol, etc... yet like smokers they still consume it and so do I.

No, speedos should not be outlawed that would be ignorant, they are covering all the private parts.

You may need to be mollycoddled from the cradle to the grave, but I can do fine without the Nanny State determining what I ingest. More importantly, I trust my fellow citizens to make their own decisions about what to eat.

yes i hate them too. but banning speedos will lead to banning bikinis. and then swimsuits. we will soon be swimming in overcoats because that would be the only ministry approved swimming uniform. like ritter said, by banning things we don't like we risk that in the future the one responsible with the banning would outlaw stuff we like.a nd he/she doesn't.

Tobacco, fast food, alcohol, cars,guns, knives, forks, they can all kill. It is a persons choice to eat fast food, If I make a profit off of you slowly killing yourself, it is your fault!!!

Moreover, there are plenty of so-called "healthy" foods people can buy cheaply thanks to globalization. This is called choice and I guarantee you it beats the hell out of the good old days when you couldn't buy groceries cheaply or out of season. Do you really want a Ministry of Health telling you that you've exceeded your caloric intake for the day and can't have a soda?
