How then would government redistribute the goods in a "fair" manner?

Have you gone insane?

@sonhouse

Well, dinosaurs, sharks, whales and squid survived and thrived for over 100 million years without money or taxes. Will we be so lucky?

I agree. And it would make us all equal. I want us all to be equal. Except for murderers, and the people who dismember bodies, and the ones who rob 7/11's. But everyone except them. Everybody else, Lib professors, everybody......

What person, Whodey, would think that far ahead? We will all commensurate and it will work out. (Uhh, can you loan me a few bucks, I didn't get into work today)

What are you going to do when your neighbor grows more corn than you, ax him and steal his corn?

If you are human then yes, you'd steal it and kill him. If you are civilized like a dolphin, you'd fix his roof in exchange for his extra corn. That's why we won't last even another thousand years.

Money should exist.
Money shouldn’t be able to generate money though.

I was on the North/South Korean border a while ago. Some North Koreans used to travel south to work in a certain factory every day, and instead of cash they asked to be paid in Wagon Wheels (you know, the chocolate things). Apparently Wagon Wheels fetched a good price in North Korea. The North Korean government put a stop to this by commissioning the making of an equivalent confectionery which closely resembled a Wagon Wheel.
