If Pope Pius XII thought the murder of six million Jews, gypsies and other non-Aryans did not warrant a condemnation, I think the line has been set on the degree of human suffering before the Church risks offending someone by offering an opinion.
I wonder what kind of evidence you would accept to convince you of the fact that Pius XII not only objected strongly to the Nazis policies but also actively engaged in attempts to save the lives of those who were in danger ?

The evidence presented here makes very clear the Church did offer Her opinion.
OK, it is time for me to weigh in and I apologize for not responding earlier as I was out doing the Lord's work. I've spent the day reassuring cancer patients that they are indeed the one's in charge of their end of life decisions. Basically I'm picking up the pieces from all this nonsense going on with this Schaivo case.
OK, what is different about this case and the holocost in terms of the church responding to it. Terry Schaivo has had due process and recourse in the court system(s) for years. She has had people advocating for her.
My anger with this so-called religious types who are picketing this hospice facility is that they have yet to realize that there is more than one victim in this situation. Clearly they side with this patient and her parents. They have forgotten that her husband, no matter what you think of him, is a victim too. They have forgotten that the people entrusted with her care are victims caught in the middle. Can you imagine going to work in the morning and having "religious people" picket you and call you a murderer? That is what is happening.
Why is it that of all the people facing this issue, they have chosen to focus on this one case? It is because it is not about this case. There are hidden agendas like abortion going on here.
A normal community of faith would simply attend to the tragedy that all in this family are experiencing. They wouldn't be going out like Randall Terry being a self-serving camera hog for Jesus. They would go about their ministry quietly with dignity and integrity.
Churches take stands all the time. Many protested the war in Iraq. Sometimes the environment. Many churches rightly tolerate a widely held spectrum of belief. That is the way it should be. What is going on with the likes of Tom Delay, George Bush, Randall Terry and the like is nothing more than the most cynical kind of grandstanding all in the so-called name of Jesus. Absolutely pathetic.
Let me further add, that I have no feelings for Terry Schaivo or her family as I do not know them. I neither like them or dislike them. I can respond to individuals that I have personally met that are struggling with end of life decisions because of this situation. I do not like that their sense of integrity is being questioned by this case. The publicity of the Jesus hogs has only made life a little more burdensome for them. Thank you, Tom Delay.

I was just in the mood to receive a little something, that's all. I thought maybe that disabled group that Ivanhoe was talking about could give me some inspiration and hope about life. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
I think you could help to create a more respectful atmosphere conducive to productive debate by addressing kirksey as Reverend. I'm sure he'd show you the same respect, if God had called you to serve Him.
