Why is God thought to be 'he' or 'she' when God is the only deity in existence and therefor does not need a "gender"?
What this shows is how desperate humans are to make God like them, human. The Same thing with "son of God", Jesus, commonly seen in the Christian West with white skin.
That is making Jesus in *our* (Western) image, not the other way around.
