Define economic freedom as it means to you.

Socialism is the transition from capitalism to communism.
Nobody has ever successfully made the transition to communism.

In other words, communism doesn't exist and has never existed. It is a goal that has never been reached.

Sorry Joe, but you missed the mark again. Most countries in Europe have far more big government, social programs than America, as well as many big and successful businesses. I don't see Glencore, Air France, BNP Paribas, or Mercedes Benz moving to Alabama anytime soon. Yes, you can have both.

Economic freedom is a very vague term.
It can mean free market freedom for companies, which often leads to poverty and no economic freedom for individuals.

Socialism tends to curb free market economic freedom, leading to individuals having more money and freedom to do what they want with that money.

The average European has a good healthcare package, 5 weeks paid vacation a year and works less than 40 hours a week.

Where’s the lack of freedom in that?

What is the average European inflation rate right now?
If you have economic freedom does that mean the money supply was increased more than the growth rate justified due to a referendum vote?

Not socialsim.

And if it were so great why not enforce it in Cambodia or the Philippines? Because the great conditions come at a cost that they cannot afford.

As for 5 weeks vacation and x hours a week, all good so long as people have choice free from goobermint coercion (economic freedom). Best move I ever made was from being a wage sheep to an independent contractor, here are the conditions:

Work one hour get paid one hour.

one beer is the transition between being sober and being a raging alcoholic. Nobody has ever had just one beer, everyone who starts with one beer ends up in an alcoholic coma

I feel very free having college all paid for and being able to start a business or switch jobs without losing my health insurance.

This is again going to be a thread where we try to explain to the moron that economic freedom for the billionaires is not economic freedom for the 99% and he will again default to "no, but venezuela" and we will call him a moron again and time shall be wasted again.

I feel very free if I have a new Maserati to drive every week. Doesn't mean other people should pay for it, zahlooney..

What does your freedom afford you to drive?
