So you assume the government would say the arts are worthless, man needs to WORK and WE decide what work is? Painting not allowed, no sculptures, no music, no dance, no architecture, we don't need archeologists, that is about the past.
Is that what you really think would happen in a socialist government?
I think you are soaked in hyperbole.

Economic Freedom: One may own property, make choices of what to buy and sell, make profit, engage in any way they please. The ultimate bosses are the consumers. We have choice.
The socialist system FORBIDS the fundamental right to choose one's own career. There is only one economic authority, and it has the right to determine all matters of production.
In so ...[text shortened]... would 'feel free' living under such restrictions. I would ask him, but he is easily upset with me.
But I have to pay property tax and if I do not I lose my property.
Even after you buy property you have to pay tax on it as if you are really renting it.

The property aspect of communism has already been implemented in the USA. The state owns your property, you just pay the rent to keep it.

Can’t have both.
Correct. Under capitalism, you have the economic freedom to starve on the street.

Socialism is an end in itself and I take it to mean that the main thrust of capitalism is coerced into a system that profits the majority rather than letting the Uber capitalist elite take it all and leave crumbs.
Socialism to someone like joe means corporations cannot poison the water you drink and the air you breathe and thus these corporations have had their freedom stolen by evil socialists.
No, socialism to me is the end of Freedom. You fellers who use corporate products everyday, and could not live without them, can only defend your position by saying the corps 'poison water'. zzzzzzzzzzz. So, you say the corporations should not be free. You also, of course, say that I should not be free.
The capitalists take it all??? If they have it all, how can all of those families have had a $5000 increase in average income under Trump? How can the families have that if the capitalists like me 'got it all'. We all got some, Kev. We all know you unhappily missed the train.....and for the record, although I am through giving money advice, you are about to miss another. Remember my Tesla comment about 2 months ago? It is up about $250 per share since then. (I have more than one share) You fellers can wallow with your discontent, or you can get off your butts. You are the same people who want to blow money on Cliiiiiiimmmate Control while China, India, et al don't do crap. The world spins.
Does it not bother you that the Communist Manifesto is the founding document of the Socialist movement? I mean, is that next with you people? I know it is the wish of Zahlanzi to go whole hog into the government taking care of you. Do you want the govt to take care of you? Will you be able to buy that 2nd home at the lake, kids go swimming? Makes you think, doesn't it.

What does your freedom afford you to drive?
Under libertarianism, he has the freedom to drive his Maserati on a rock path and destroy his sump.

Would the socialists have called Van Gogh a bad painter and sent him to work in a shoe factory (owned by the socialists)?
Ooh, the ignorance...

Cause there is no private ownership, with all its definitions, with socialism. For starters. Downer. So, no freedom. Downer.
Again, fundamental and intentional ignorance.

Sorry, Joey-boy, but you're wrong from the very start.

Of course it is. You do not know what socialism is, and you do not know what it is to be free from the shackles of your plutocrat masters.

Seen most of 'em, definitely the woman 'peeling' one. But can't you see how a govt bureauocrat would view those earthy paintings with disdain, and send Van Gogh to cobble shoes!?!?
Oh, are you one of those pitiful creatures gluing their hand to Museo paintings?

I don't know or care about libertarianism, as it is going no where in the near future, but glad to hear those people have freedom in their hearts. Can you imagine no Freedom? I know a small plot of land I can buy for $5000. I know a guy who is looking for just such a plot. I will buy it Tuesday, and sell it to him Wednesday for $100K. Socialism would not let me do that. Would libertarianism??
