Just a statistic on opiod deaths in US vs Canada for 2021
US 75673
Canada 7169
Which is roughly consistent with the relative populations of the 2 countries.
Seeing as Canada has no border with Mexico, one has to wonder how exactly how much the border has to do with fentanyl deaths across the US.
If the Mexican border is sealed, the goods will find their way into the US and Canada.
Dope fiends will always find a way.
Them dying gets no pity from me.
Many families are now free from that person who constantly ruined their lives with the addictions.
Securing the border would lessen the amount of drugs and deaths but the USA and Canada are just too big to secure all of the border at all times.
Apparently it's a pain medication and probably cheaper than heroin.
I honestly don't know anything about it other than that.
"Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine."

@athousandyoung saidMaybe 5 percent...
And these people are hooked because their doctors prescribed it to them.
The rest are original dope fiends and you know it.
@AThousandYoung
I've done quite of few drugs in my time. Probably more than anyone here.
I have will power.
No pity for dope fiends who can't control their habits.

They probably have other sources than Hannity and Carlson. Why don't you enlighten us. The opioid crisis in the US is not mainly caused by Big Pharma pushing pain meds on the populace and you have stats to back it up. And those stats are...
@booger saidHeh did anyone else read this post in Trump's voice? 😀

Weird flex but ok.
@booger saidMy point being that using the opiod crisis as a talking point for failed border policy is a false argument.

Anyone tuning into FOX will hear that argument constantly.
@mghrn55 saidYa and anyone tuning into CNN will hear dope fiends blaming white privilege supremacy racism blah blah blah

No doubt we have more fentanyl now under Biden but who cares? Dope fiends die. Good riddance.
