because their healthcare is a joke and they only go to the doctor when it starts hurting. By then it's too late, they can't afford real healthcare so the psycho doctor just tells them to get some heroin (the legal kind, the kind Big Pharma profits from) for the pain.

Just a statistic on opiod deaths in US vs Canada for 2021
US 75673
Canada 7169
Which is roughly consistent with the relative populations of the 2 countries.
Seeing as Canada has no border with Mexico, one has to wonder how exactly how much the border has to do with fentanyl deaths across the US.
If the Mexican border is sealed, the goods will find their way into the US and Canada.
cite your source...your numbers are wrong

"Provisional data from CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics indicate there were an estimated 107,622 drug overdose deaths in the United States during 2021, an increase of nearly 15% from the 93,655 deaths estimated in 2020. The 2021 increase was half of what it was a year ago, when overdose deaths rose 30% from 2019 to 2020."

And these people are hooked because their doctors prescribed it to them.
… because doctors get perks from big pharma for prescribing opioids.
