@no1marauder saidWhen it gives money away it’s indebted to taxpayers who have to make good on it!
Who do you think the government is indebted to when it gives out a student loan?
29 Aug 22
@wildgrass saidYes, it takes away taxpayers money and what it doesn’t have on hand obligates future money will be taken away from taxpayers. Small wonder they are arming IRS agents now, soon they will be able to take all you have and your life. Trillions in debt! 🤯 The government needs it’s money!
This is what all government spending does.

@kellyjay saidHow many times does this have to be explained to you?

We are a democratic republic; the government is elected by the People and stands as their proxy. The People elected Joe Biden knowing he promised to forgive a portion of student loan debts. By their votes, they consented to it.
And no one is going to "make good" on a discharged debt.

@mott-the-hoople saidNo money is being "given". A portion of a debt is being discharged that is owed to government. The People have consented to this by their votes in 2020.
you inadvertently reveal the problem…the govt has no money, it is the taxpayer that is on the hook.
it is utterly stupid for you folks to defend free money going to people that make much more then you do. you in your 60,000 dollar job are being forced to give your money to someone making 125,000
talk about dumb as dirt!
It is like a tax cut; some future revenue, maybe $20-30 billion a year, is being forgoed. I thought you guys liked tax cuts.

@kellyjay saidThis is typical ignorant hysteria which really is the only philosophy of the right wing these days.

@no1marauder saidDischarge all debt to the government if that is all it takes, discharges all around yippee 🥳

I want 10k of what I paid that others don’t have to, what makes them different than me?

@mott-the-hoople saidWhy in hell didn't you feel this way about Trump's tax cuts?

What a rube.
@no1marauder saidThe absurd thing here is they think they're making sense!
This is typical ignorant hysteria which really is the only philosophy of the right wing these days.
@no1marauder saidNot when it's for the middle class.

@kellyjay saidIf a veteran of WWI had told you that you getting benefits under the GI Bill was "unfair" because he didn't get the same when his service was done, how would you have responded?

@no1marauder saidA benefit and a discharge of debt someone signed up for is not the same thing. People had their wages garnished to pay back student loans, they had tax returns withheld to pay back student loans. No one made them take on the debt, unlike tax burdens it doesn’t fall on people out of the blue. When you sign on to the military that too is voluntary except when the draft is implemented.
