😴😴
Whodey the partisan shill blathers on again. I missed all this complaining about deficit spending when GWB was President. Now with the economy in severe recession, you and a bunch of other conservatives have become born agains ranting about the deficit. Never mind that reduction of government spending in a recession could quite possi ...[text shortened]... to give this administration's economic policies a chance. That's what the people voted for.
I am beginning to become more and more convinced that the two party system in this country is tantamount to poison. Take your eyes of the parties and understand that both have done and are doing pretty much the same things.
Originally posted by whodeyTo say that the country is going to essentially go to Hell in a handbasket is a generous dose of hyperbole. There's nothing wrong in and of itself with a government being in debt (basically every government is in debt). The problem again is whether the spending that is putting us into greater debt is actually going to cause the economy to recover faster than if it were left alone. Personally, I suspect that to a certain degree it does (did). The bailouts for the banking sector were critical to avoid a serious collapse (or at least massive slowdown). A lot of the spending now is about providing credit in a case where the market is not providing it to a sufficient level. I suspect that this too is a good idea. It's spending on industrial sectors that I'm dubious about. For instance creating high-speed rail lines. It will create some jobs for sure, but I'm not sure that in the long run investment in high-speed rail lines is a wise one because I don't think that the demand is there to support it.
People just don't get it. These tea parties are not simply about taxes, rather, they are about government spending. Of course, if spending continues as it is and has taxation is not far behind. In fact, how could it not be the case? YOu pay now or you pay later. It seems to me that no one wants to raise our taxes to pay for what they want to pay for so t ...[text shortened]... nts goodbye. With a gun to your head, you are more likely to surrender your hard earned money.
Anyway, tea parties are just a few right-wing conservatives getting together and bitching because they've been losing elections.

I'm blase about the "whole thing" for the same reason I'm blase about Bigfoot. Neither exist.
Don't the parallels with pre-war Nazi Germany worry you at all?
Or even the thought of a heavily armed and severly undertrained
personal army send shivers up your spine?
Maybe even the potential of a domestically liberated US army?
Scares the hell out of me.
And what of the cost of near doubling military resources? The military
machine is a hungry one.

You're showing your deranged side again.
