How old are you, may I ask? I have nothing against good comedy. Good comedy went out the door years ago. Seinfeld was probably the last funny sitcom. The Comedy Channel has some funny stuff on it, but c'mon, the Simpsons and Futurama? If you think South Park is good comedy, then I truly feel sorry for you. I ain't a "stick in the mud", I'm just ...[text shortened]... wards Berlin in '44-'45, I'll apologize for pissing on your comedy parade.....deal? 😉

There is a difference betweent the History Channel and the Military Channel? I have heard that the History Channel is owned by the US Army. I don't know whether it is true or not. Has anyone else heard the same?
It appears that you don't watch anything except documentaries and such, not sitcoms. Nothing wrong with that, the majority of t.v. that I wat ...[text shortened]... ters) and he said they can get away with more cutting edge jokes because it is just a cartoon.
Originally posted by chancremechanicI agree there is a ton of crap out there, especially what they call sitcoms. Other than Arrested Development I don't think I have watched a sitcom with real actors in at least a year.

Yes, I will agree, it was Patton who actually flunked out in his plebe year, then re-entered in 1909. Can you tell me which British General Graduated from Saint Pauls school and joined in the Royal Warwichshire Regiment and first served in India. And btw, I am 14, and yes I do watch sitcoms, and even Family Guy and Futurama. But I also watch a lot of the discovery channel, and as a matter of fact I was watching it earlier on the Japaneses Zero fighter jet which was nicknamed 'Zeke'. I am also an honours student, so I don't see the problem in me watching comedic shows.
Farnsworth for sure.
Huge fan of the Family Guy too. Luckily my girlfriend works for Fox so i got each an every episode of both in box sets. Joy.
I actually reckon both make bold and pretty cutting social commentary. Kind of like Jesters in the days of old. The used to make fun of the King, but it was ok because it was funny. It still served it's purpose though.

Yes, I agree that it's all good of you to wastch "The Family Guy" and "Futurama", but only after you've watched 13.5 hours of The History Channel, The Military Channel, etc.....just kidding. By the way the answer to your question was General Bernard Law Montgomery who defeated the Germans in North Africa and was General Patton's nemises...good lessons for both sides, cheers...

The sadest part in the series-when Fry found his dog, and decided not to clone it, then it showed the dog wagging its tail, waiting at the street corner. "I may have not forgotten about whatever the dogs name was, but he forgot about me long ago." I was almost in tears.

With history channel, I just can't walk away until they repeat a show. And sometimes even then it holds me hostage. I think I have seen 'Last Secrets of the Axis' about 5 times. History channel is to TV what RHP is to the internet.

Well the best one as far as I am concerned, not a cartoon
character but real life dude was Jacob Bronowski, The Ascent of Man.
Another guy gets my vote although a lot of people would poo-poo
him was Carl Sagan of Cosmos fame, and I loved Jody Foster
in the movie Cosmos. Alas Jacob and Carl are both long dead.
