And you can bet your sweet ass they would pass that increase on to the customer, you or me or millions of other US citizens.
It is a fuuuking TAX up front and will ONLY drive the prices up for whomever buys that stuff, whatever, milkshake machines, clocks, cars, steel, doesn't matter, WE pay the increase not foreign companies. What the HELL made you ever think foreigners would pay that tariff?

The US manufacturer has to pay more for workers (hourly wage, benefits etc) and therefore it cost more for US manufacturers to make the product.
Countries like china dont have that overhead as they use slave labor, or pay workers very little.
you claim to be against slavery, think US workers need higher wages, but cant see how this works.

If a Best Buy gets a Japanese washer, say it costs them 300 dollars and they tack on 30% profit, Then it hits the floor at 650. So that ASSSSHOLE Trump sticks a 20% tariff and now Best Buy pays 360. So they add their 30% and now WE pay 470 dollars for what used to be 650. So tell me, where is that Japanese company getting punished? A real punishment would go you used to want 300 bucks for that washer, now, we are going to pay you 250.
And that company would go SCREW YOU, we will sell to Bolivia or Brazil or Mexico or Canada.
So tell us who wins THAT war eh.

It is US citizens who pay for that 'tariff' which is just an up front tax AMERICANS pay for.
If you think otherwise, tell us since you obviously must have a Phd in economics.
That example of Sony just shows the entire exercise is a joke, Sony gets NO punishment as a result of that tariff. AMERICANS are the ones punished for that tariff and the entire idea of that assshole trump is to get more money in his hands if he is POTUS again.
That tariff WILL cause a loss of jobs and a probably recession.
I hope you are ready for that.
Of course if it DOES happen like I say it will, when it does, it would NEVER be Trump's fault, it would be anyone he can throw under the bus, like I said, he NEVER takes responsibility for his many failures.
