Already answered, but you don't like the answer. In fact, it's you who didn't answer MY question (though, admittedly, some people think it rude to answer a question with a question).
I’ll play. Unlimited immigration (open border), can threaten limited government .
True or false?

I just followed up on this current issue. Now before asking me one question, how do you respond to it? Like we are sitting at Starbucks , and a curious crowd has NOT gathered around us? Geez, the pontificating…..

How exactly?

The United States had what you would call "open borders" for about its first 100.years and a system based on "limited government". So obviously they can exist together.

That government did not dole out money, hotels, please square up. You give us all a headache.
Open borders? We had space and fewer parasites. Needed them, do not need them now.

Marauder compares the US of 100 years ago to Today. I truly feel like you liberals do not watch the news.

So what? We have smarter and better policies now.

Your idea that people who wish to come to this country and build better lives for themselves and their families are nothing but "parasites" is ignorant bigotry. I see you refused to even look at the links I provided in another thread showing the economic benefits of immigration thus you are a willful ignorant bigot.

Make up your mind; do you want to discuss the theoretical question you originally asked or the situation that exists in the US now?

This is such an easy one, so black and white, it's interesting to see him wriggle.

Tied up at the moment, but I have to say, why does he keep mentioning race and never refers to culture, which is the real problem? Liberals do not seem to understand real problems.

"What do you think an "open border" means?"

NZ/Aus is a good example, I'm in Aus now working, no visa required, no limit. If tomorrow you decide, as an Australian you want to go to NZ for work (or not work) go to the airport and get on a plane, it's that simple, and vicey versy.

Could Australia which is a strong welfare state i.e. health, education, ...[text shortened]... ns of hard working Indonesians, turning them into parasites as it has so many NZers and Australians.
Helping the less fortunate turns them into parasites?

Are you sure that's not just your hate for them?

Have you ever helped anybody?

Being black and poor is not a problem for you, because... (wait for it) ...you are white and rich. N'est-ce pas?

@AverageJoe1
Short treatise,avoiding SHouse-like screed.::
We are not speaking of means-tested welfare programs such as food stamps, medicare and public housing.
Rather, an entire 'redistributive' transfer state.
Govt taxes upper groups and shifts about $2T in economic resources to lower income groups, through a VAST variety of benefits and subsidies.
It is the largest function of our government in my opinion.

An Open Border which grants citizenship to vast numbers of low-skill, low income immigrants not only creates new beneficiaries of giveaway programs, but also new voters likely to support even greater transfers.
There is a remedy,,,,,,it is to dismantle the welfare state. Then we can have open borders, but immigrants should be barred from accessing welfare and other benefits. Marauder seems to think to open the borders and let them feed, leading to a more of a confiscatory government. Brrrr.
I think that Marauder et al lack an understanding of our welfare laws, and more importantly, a lack of appreciation of the magnitude of the redistributionist state.
In short, an open border with a steady stream of these aliens Will result in a much larger tax fueled government.
Marauder is all about big government and wealth redistribution, so will fail to grasp one kernel of what I just wrote.
And he is fooling no one to suggest that you can have an open border, with welfare given to those who cross the open border. It is impossible.
