So, yes, you are right, completely ridiculous to think of a scenario where someone in Saudi Arabia was assisting Al Queda. That really is out of the question. Couldn't ever happen.

An A Queda member in Spain giving information is hardly the same as an al Queda member who assembled in a safe house in Syria coming across the boarder into Iraq to directly confront the US military. Why WOULD we atack in Spain? We're talking attacking military targets. Try to stay on topic. Kids dying is something else to discuss. Your mind tends to stray a bit too much in your effort to spin your side.

What about Mozambique?
I'm sure there's some terrorists there. I think the US has the responsibility to go over and kill some African children.

And China! China has some terrorists the US really needs to blow up. And there's plenty of Chinese children to go round too.

Oh. You don't dare take on the big boys? Oh well... Lichtenstein's got kids and terrorists as well.

Mozambique? Same same Clifford's Spain anology. Killing children is another subject. A very important subject!

Ah, the old "Why are you picking on me? My brother is twice as bad!" trick. My kids try that all the time.

Written into policy, that becomes "Since not all criminals can be caught and punished simultaneously, no criminals will be caught."

An alternative (parental) view is, I catch and punish the guilty one next to me and keep an eye on the others.

Actually the notion of hiding behind another nation's sovereignty also has something of a playground quality to it to. "I'm touching home base! You can't get me! Nyah!"

Guess again.

I think the hiding behind national borders is called International Law and break those is called casus belli. We have many organizations that one might consider terrorist organizations operating in the U.S.; Blackwater USA for one. How do you think we would react if the Iraqi's sent a Special Forces team into North Carolina?

I know Granny, this is quite far fetched, but it is the same thing. One countries terrorist is another freedom fighter.

A better example would be if the Cuban government sent a hit squad to Miami to kill Orlando Bosch, who was involved in the bombing of a civilian airliner which killed 73 Cuban citizens. He lives freely in the US.

A bad analogy. We'd try to kick their ass. What's the point? I would expect the Iraqi freedom fighters in Syria to kick our ass too. Or the Syrians should kick our ass.

A Perfect Analogy would be: Canada invades US. US freedon fighters hide on the Mexican boarder,( where they are trained by Mexicans) to conduct military action against Canadian invaders in US. Canada strikes on Mexican boarder and kicks US freedom fighters' asses. Great call by the Canadians! How would Mexico feel?.... LUCKY!...who cares?!

Clifford, All it takes is superior reasoning skills and a superior sense of REALITY.

So you are saying that might makes right. Since the Syrians obviously cannot kick our ass, they should just sit back and take it.

Superior reasoning my ass, simplistic U.S. centric view.

Might should not make right, BUT, it makes do. It's called REALITY. You should change it. I don't know how... and neither does Obama.

I thought i was a right wing nut! Now i'm a centric?

How about this: We signed the UN charter which, according to our constitution, makes it the law of the land. So the Iraqi war is illegal. A good reason to get the Hell out of the UN. I don't think there's too many members of the UN who give a flying rats crap about the US. Next they'll be telling us we can't have guns. Ooops, they're already saying that.

Oh, okay, I don't like the U.N. because they wouldn't bow to W's will, so we should leave the U.N.

You act like a 6 year old. "I'm not winning, so I'm going to take my ball and go home."

We are gonna have to stop calling you Granny and start calling you Bratty.

You can still be a right winged nut case and have a U.S. centric view (as most right winged nut cases do). Meaning your view of the world is based on the U.S. view point. As far as your point of view of the U.S. it is completely right winged nut job.

As for reality; you defended the U.S. breaking International Law by violating a sovereign nations borders by saying that it was "legal to smack his face first. It's preemptive self defense."

Who said i believe in International Law? I do believe in preemptive self defense! Screw the UN! The UN charter is a fact. We signed it. Time to break their laws for good and get the Hell out. We'll leave our balls their for others to play with. We're not that cruel. Can't wait to see the winning when we leave. Get out of NATO and every other MILITARY alliances also. Go home and take care of our people only.

That's fine if that's what you do but while the US is protecting it's interests by propping up governments here and bringing down governments there and generally trying to mold the world into an extended set of its own consumers then, if nothing else, it has a responsibility to be an active and responsible member of an organisation like the UN.

If you choose to stop trying to alter the history of other nation states then retreating into isolationism is a perfectly valid and ethical choice. You probably wouldn't like it after a while though.
