Amendment VI
"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense."
Some of the Jan 6th protesters did not get a speedy trial.
Isn't that a violation of the 6th amendment?
Amendment VIII
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

“Speedy” isn’t SMART enough to be useful. 5 years could be deemed speedy over 20 years.
Your bail system sucks. Basically, if you have enough money you’re less of a risk to society?
You should only be imprisoned before trial if you’re a flight risk or a risk to society. And in both cases you shouldn’t get bloody bail anyways.
As for attempting to overthrow the government… what do you think the State is going to do? You’re a definate risk to society, you will get the full book thrown at you.
Grow up.
If you’re not willing to get burnt, don’t set a fire in the bloody kitchen.
@metal-brain saidIt's to torture them into 'confessing'.

Who attempted to overthrow the government? It was a protest which is also supposed to be protected under the 1st amendment. It is only those who were not peaceful protesters that broke the law. Entering the capitol building is not an insurrection, especially if they were let in by the Capitol Police.
The FBI (The US government) said it was not an insurrection. You know that, but you never let the truth change your opinion. So why is the US government contradicting itself?
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/fbi-confirms-there-was-no-insurrection-on-january-6
You grow up. You are trying to revise history. Do you know why you keep trying to contrdict the truth with falsehoods? You have a repetition-induced truth effect manipulating your mind.

Listen 💩4🧠, whether what you believe is true or not (it’s not, by the way, it’s right-wing propaganda), if the establishment believes you are attacking it, what do you think the establishment will do?
There you go.
You invade a political building, you’re gonna get screwed. Anyone with half a braincell comprehends this. You want to play with fire… put it out completely… or get burnt.
And their idiocy roasted them fair and squarely.
@shavixmir saidNot everyone invaded the building. The CP let people in with a warm welcome. That is not an invasion.
Uhuh.

You are digressing into myths that are irrelevant. I asked if it violated the constitution. You hoping they get punished has nothing to do with the constitution. All you seem to be saying is that they should be punished despite the constitution. That is not what this thread is about.
I already know you are an authoritarian like Stalin. You don't need to brag about it.

All I’m saying on this subject is that if you try to overthrow a government and fail, you’re in for a rightious spanking.
And yes. It’s the government, not you or racist-incel.com which decides if it was an insurrection or not.
Sorry. Wake up and smell the coffee.
@Metal-Brain
So you are bitching about the fact that there were and are HUNDREDS of arrests which takes time to run through the courts.
You really are a POS pathetic anti American traitor and you really need to move to Moscow where you will be greeted as a hero.
You really want to rewrite history so the coup attempt would be seen by our children as just another peaceful demonstration of political will.
If they had found either Pence or Pelosi they would have killed them both.
And Pelosi was not safe in her own house and ALL of this is 100% on the hands of Trump.
So stick you conspiracy theory up your pathetic ass.
It was a COUP attempt, and the fact there were fake electors was just another aspect of the many pronged plot of the coup. It wasn't JUST those thousands of insurrectionists, there are literally hundreds of house and senate members fully involved with the coup.
@metal-brain saidThese people aren't "political prisoners". They are charged with crimes that have no relation to politics like trespassing, assaulting police officers and the like.

All had chances to make speedy trial motions and have those motions adjudicated by the courts. Additionally those convicted can make such claims on appeal.
