@wajoma saidWhat you have is no understanding of statistics or a feel for the numbers involved.
soothfast said:
"...and this is all down to crackpots now poring over obituaries like never before, with a studiousness they customarily apply to the funny papers, cherry picking every death they deem to be "unusual."
Some of the funniest obits:
"Riki, 60s, Dargaville, Died following his jab, the same day. In his wheelchair with a cup of tea. Medical centre all ...[text shortened]... to family members."
Sootfast, you're probably better going with the 'they're all liars' strategy.
In the US, in 2021, for weeks and weeks, millions of people were getting the Covid vaccine on a daily basis. One day it was around 4.5 million, which is about equal to the adult population of all New Zealand.
Think about all the weird deaths that occur in New Zealand on a daily basis. Cast back to pre-pandemic times if it helps. Now, by the same token, you take those 4.5 million who got a Covid shot in the US that one day (most days it was more like 2 or 3 million), and you can expect to find a number of them dying within a week or some thing or another. That does not mean they died of the vaccine. It is just ordinary life as usual.
So, anyway, aside from the fact that you have no credible rebuttal to any of the things explained to you in this forum time and time again with regards to the vaccines, you have plain old statistics to contend with. If you want to continue being ignorant and juvenile about the matter, that's your prerogative.

@wajoma saidYou already forgot my post above? There are many reasonable theories concerning the excess deaths. I'm not disputing the excess deaths. But clinical trials of the vaccines do not support your "theory" about the cause. The explanation lies elsewhere. Simple as that.
I'm a liar, the people who have lost friends and families are liars, the organisation NZDSOS are liars.
The mysterious increase in excess deaths? Goobermint numbers, but they're lying too.
@soothfast saidThe theory is: I'm lying, the friends and families of those that have lost people are lying, the organisation NZDSOS are lying. The people who could lose billions even trillions of dollars are not lying.

The MSM stand to lose millions, first in straight bribe money, then in untold millions of ad revenue. In NZ when people were first locked down with nothing to do but consume the news on something totally unforeseen and unimaginable, the NZ goobermint handed out $50 000 000 to certain friendly media and they've been on the state tit ever since with ad revenue.
Deaths in NZ have jumped 10%, 4% they're attributing to wuflu (probably lying) if they could hang it on speeding, or drunk driving, or drugs, or wife beating, or cigarettes, or climate change we'd never hear the end of it.
Silence.
...and from sootfist? majic fairey dust.
Simple as that.
If someone you know that's juiced up falls over with blood clots or similar, keep it in mind: "Majic fairey dust, majic fairey dust, majic fairey dust"
@wajoma saidYou offer only knee-jerk emotionalism, petulance, and irrelevancies.

The absolute least likely explanation for excess deaths in the general population is vaccination, because we have the results of controlled studies and ongoing followups with the tens of thousands who participated in the clinical trials in 2020 and 2021 to draw from, and they have found no evidence of complications with the vaccines on the scale you suggest. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines continue to acquit themselves magnificently.
It is likely a combination of things causing excess mortalities. The pandemic caused immense disruption in billions of people's lives, and some things have changed forever. Hospitals were stretched past the limit, and many good nurses and doctors have quit or succumbed to Covid. That, too, could contribute to excess deaths. It takes years to train a new crop of medical staff.
Anyway, near as I can tell, you simply want the vaccines to fail. You were against them, as I recall, well before these excess death statistics ever came out. In fact, I think you were against them even before they were released to the public. Why I do not know. Probably for Metal Brainy reasons.
@wajoma saidAnd for the record, I know of no one who has died in recent years in the manner you describe. Not friends, not family, not colleagues at work (a couple hundred -- nearly all vaccinated), not acquaintances, not neighbors, not anyone I know of personally.

@soothfast saidFor the 57th time, I'm not anti-vax if you believe it does something for your health then you should take it and keep taking it as much as you like, you should also pay for it.

My stance from the beginning, nothing changed.
sootfast: "In fact, I think you were against them even before they were released to the public."
An example of 'facts' according to sootfast, a 'thought' presented as 'fact', classic dunning kruger. When sootfist says 'facts' he's actually referring to his 'thoughts' and feelings.

@wajoma saidI didn't say you were anti-vaxx, only that you're against the Covid vaccines that most of the world are using.

And you can confirm here whether or not you were against the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines before they came out. Yes or no? It doesn't impact my counterarguments to your blithering about the actual cause of excess deaths, so it isn't really of importance to me. Funny, though, that this is what you want to focus on. And funnier still that you didn't simply take the opportunity to clarify what your stance was.
And as for facts. Well. You have only your gut feelings to go on in this debate, because you have no facts besides the simple existence of excess deaths. You went so far as to say, a few posts ago, that the New Zealand government is "probably lying" about two fifths of excess deaths being attributable to Covid. Wow. QED. Wajoma thinks they're "probably lying," so case closed I guess.
@soothfast saidTo be clear, I'm asking whether you, personally, were open to getting a Pfizer or Moderna Covid vaccine around, say, January 2021. I mean, I gather you have never gotten a Covid vaccine, so your (personal) opposition to them must go way, way back, yes? Never mind when the vaccines were actually available in your country.
I didn't say you were anti-vaxx, only that you're against the Covid vaccines that most of the world are using.

I’ll take that as a “no” then.
@wajoma saidClearly you didn’t, so I pulled them out for you.

@divegeester saidThere's no beating your mind reading powers if that's the level you want to go to, telling me what I know.

If you believe it benefits your health go ahead and take it, and pay for it.
