I am not seeing any talk about ventilators anymore.

What about the ventilators? Why the silence on ventilators? The government had to force companies to make ventilators, but now that they are still getting ready to put them into production, no need for ventilators.

Looks like a bunch of wasted money and man hours.

Yeah, I saw sonhouse's thread about ventilators.

https://www.redhotpawn.com/forum/debates/trump-playing-politics-with-peoples-lives.184825

he references the article:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/denver-post-editorial-board-slams-donald-trump-for-e2-80-98playing-political-games-with-lives/ar-BB12rcTB

So, this 500 ventilator order, what is it for? Why do they need 500 ventilators in Colorado!

I suspect they need these the because Trump lambasted Jim Acosta!

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/10/trump-fires-back-after-cnns-acosta-accuses-him-hap/

So who's playing politics with peoples lives?!? SMH...

@no1marauder

So about 400 ventilators are likely to be needed. I wonder how many ventilators are already in Colorado.

Would you agree that it is better to have an ample supply of ventilators just in cause the pandemic is worse there then previously expected?

6500 That's cumulative cases from march 8th! Many of those people have either died or recovered by now.

What is the demographic of the 1312 currently hospitalized? What percentage of those will likely need ventilators to survive? The cumulative cases of people entering hospitalization are peaking. There is not going to be an influx of hospitalizations. There will not be a need for 500 Ventilators unless there is a need for 500 ventilators NOW!

I don't know.

But your estimate is really just out your a** isn't it? Ventilators are used for other things besides COVID aren't they?

@joe-shmo

Even if it is just New York and New Jersey peaking, in 2 or 3 weeks there will be many ventilators freed up.

Look at the Cumulative Hospitalizations by Date of onset. The number of new hospitalizations per day has been increasing by 10's per day! They have literally increased 100 cases since April 2nd!

PS. Thank you for providing me the tools necessary to shred your ludicrous argument.

Active cases are 6,220 as of NOW. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

I'm impressed by the medical expertise of right wing posters here; I mean who are the bozos in the Colorado Department of Health & Environment to dare give estimates of what equipment will be needed to deal with this pandemic when we have Joe and Eldy?

There are presently 6220 active cases.

Maybe you should take a course in remedial reading. 981 patients in Colorado were hospitalized due to the virus on April 2nd; 1312 are now. Is that "100" in the math you use?

It is called political hype.

Why demand? So you can make things look worse to try to make Trump look bad.

It is all politics at this point.
