Pretty obvious that the Republicans are desperate in front of the mid term elections and trying to make a mountain out of a (non) molehill. Kerry's comments were clearly addressed to the lack of intelligence of our dimwit President, not the troops.

The Democrat spinmeisters can't seem to make up their minds what Kerry was doing these last few days...half of them think he "mis-spoke" (Kerry seems to do that a lot for someone who's a self-proclaimed genius), the other half say he was just being "nuanced". All he was doing was telling us what he thinks... we need more of that from our beloved politicians.

I didn't think it was that big a deal myself, but knew right away it would be fodder for the media. What he said inplys that only the uneducated .. or stupid end up in the military.
Not true .. was NEVER true.
He may have been brain-stuck in 1971, when we drafted into the military for Vietnam .. his (and my) era. Even then it would have been a slur on those who serve. True, many HS drop-outs were drafted into service, but to think they were all stupid or that a College degree makes one smarter than these men is way off-base and smacks of elitism .. a Kerry trait.
