This is an area for discussions on subjects such as religion or politics or any other subject where differing views may lead to heated discussion.
Please be aware that while we accept that discussions may get emotional, all normal forum etiquette rules apply.
Please do not use offensive language, and please continue to respect other posters even if you ...[text shortened]... access the forum via the 'forum list'. A link from the menu will appear shortly.
Enjoy!
Personally I have gotten into some mud slinging matches in the forums. When the dust settles and I re-read the posts that were made. It usually looked to me as if both players escalated what was originally an off hand remark or simply a joke that was taken too personally or the wrong way.I often will send the person a PM saying I was wrong in what I said and that I am sorry for being a jerk.
In all cases the other player says they are also sorry, and they all seem to be a genuinely thoughtful and good person.
I think that in the "heat of discusions" most people are very resolute and passionate about their view points, and take it personal when another tries to use humour to illustrate a different view.
Realising this can make us grow wiser and more tolerant.
