I always thought you two to be the same person. One a mover and shaker in the belt way, the other a liberation theology Jesuit doing penance for colonial excess. Question is does it involve time portals or remote computers via vpn?

That's funny.

Wait a second. Are you implying the credit crisis is due to an excess of regulation?
In any case, I agree that the budget policy of the US is poor. I wonder if democracy is to blame, after all there isn't much to choose in terms of national policy in the US.
Regulators during the Carter administration told banks they had to loan money to unqualified applicants. This policy was put on steroids by the Clinton administration making Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac government entities who would capitalize these bad loans. The stamp of government approval, and backing triggered a rush to these instruments, and the government then didn't hold anyone responsible, by bailing them all out to the tune of $700 billion, probably much more in the long run.
SS is demonstrative of the danger of democracy. It is the third rail of politics, because senior citizens are the largest and most reliable block of voters. Touching the Ponzi scheme that sends them a check every month is a guaranteed loser, even though every actuarial to look at the program says it is going broke, and can't meet even current obligations.

I did.
To argue against the conclusions, one would seem to need to question the premises.
Central would be the "spectrum of government" from Total government on the left, to no government on the right. This is a logical and consistent way to pigeon hole government types. It eliminates the confusion, which I believe is intentional, of having Marxist/collectivist government types at both ends of the spectrum. That can hardly be consistent or logical.
Is there anyone who did view the video, that contests the premise of the the spectrum of government?
Originally posted by Dace AceI think it has to do less with the type of government than it does who is running the government. On paper, pretty much any form of government should be able to work. It is then only a matter of execution.

Is all corporatism (tm: FMF) bad? or just some?
Corporatist leaders thus believe in the stable management of cooperation between interest groups, and that's all. It's not a question of policies or ethics. And, furthermore, these interest groups are devoid of the broad common sense required to see beyond short term self-interest. Without it they are little more than idiot savants, unable to avoid disasters and unable to understand why.
