Their inability to find reasonable points in reality and state them. Then to support them with reason.

Typically I always see that "Bush just spouts the typical Cowbow BS about how he don't need the UN."

And nobody backs up this brash declaration.

Why should this conflict of generations even exist?

Who is right... and who is wrong?

I assert that my generation at least understands the need to start every assertion with example and fact. The kids do not feel the need.

Notice the word "feel". That is important. "Feel" has replaced "Think".

Period.

When did this happen? And why did it? Does it have any importance?

Probably the old folk thought the same thing about your generation... yep sorry to be the one to break it to you, but your transformation into your dad has finally been complete.🙂

Ok. They removes my calling you an A**hole. Let's try this. My dad never "reasoned" in his life.

Still touchy eh ? I seem to remember discussing your pop before, right ?

Reason out one question to prove my point. If it had been your dad sitting at your computer and I'd just made that crack, do you think he would have also tried to called me an A**hole?

I also don't like todays youth because they can't read a statement or a question and stay on subject.

As per your reply.

You are off subject.

As to your question. No.

I can't remember him ever uttering a word. Per se.

Just the violence. He was a man of "no" words.

Satisfied?

Don't worry. By the time they're running the show we probably won't be here to suffer the consequences. 😵

I regularly encounter people in their 50s and 60s who fit this description. The internet, of course, has given them the ability to parade such drivel, and to be heard.

You are YET to post a single opinion that comes from you.

Think about that.

Ah the ability of laterial thinking is always one the first things to go when you are creeping over the hill. 🙂

Come on man I'm just pulling your leg, I remember your dislike for your father, and I'm sure you are nothing like your father in some ways but in others ways you probably are. Most people don't want to end up like there parents but as they get older they eventually do to a certain degree. Lets face it you can't spend that much time around somebody and not be influenced by them.
Whinging about the youth of today is sterio type associated with parents, and old folk. But maybe that just err slipped from your memory.....

in jest 🙂

Ok.

Fair and good.

So one of the things I had to do was consciously rebuild a "reality". My father was a certifiable NUT because he had none.

Here on RHP I have tried at least ten times to engage a discussion of 'Reality" because I learned a god damned lot about it in my effort.

Where is your contribution to any of those efforts? In discussing "Reality"?

Oh. My grandkids already make me limp. From pulling leg. The poor ugly old legs are about five inches shy of each other.

I don't trust myself; I must base my opinions on observation and evidence. I'm sorry I lack the freedom you feel to pull opinions out of yourself regardless of their credibility.

We elitists are like that. Get used to it, some of my type are Republicans and close to the reins of power.

Have you seen the January/February issue of Foreign Affairs? One of the articles offers strong support for Bush's policy shift, comparing the effects of 9-1-1 to Pearl Harbor.

Why don't you trust yourself?

Because all you know is from your parents?

Come on SVW, I've pointed you towards a reasoned defense of your assertions regarding the dangers posed by stateless gangs, although the article lacks the rhetorical flourish of your oxymoron: stateless fascists.

But you prefer to question the lessons I learned from informed Republicans, my parents.
