@averagejoe1 saidWhy change the subject?
Clinton was not a draft dodging cheater. Or, was he? This is a very confusing thread. Did Clinton, or didn't he? I will find a link on it!! You fellers are a piece of work. You should have closed your posts, and said 'so was Clinton all that Trump was',,,,,but, only the bad part.
I would too....Defend TRUMP?
30,000 DOCUMENTED Iies?
CIinton isn't the subject,
hasn't been for over 20 years.

@averagejoe1 saidYou know there’s a serious difference between the two?
Sorry to hit you libs with this, it pretty much negates your imbalanced narratives on several threads. Again, libs do not 'close' their arguments. You rail on about your own facts of Jan 6, but do not balance it with the Weather Underground attack in 1971. Dam near brought down a president.
Of course, we would love your personal (not mob-like) opinions on this unea ...[text shortened]... it!!!

Obviously neither are acceptable from a government’s viewpoint, but one was inspired by and egged on by, the sitting government.
And I’m pretty sure the list of government officials, back in 1971, declaring it “a scandal about nothing” or “Good old boys dressed up as hippies” were far and few between.
Why not get a shotgun and literally shoot yourself in the leg, whilst you’re at it?

He may not be aware of which
end of the gun the bullet exits.
@averagejoe1 saidThe event you cite involved two individuals. A mainstream news network did not support it. Those involved did not advertise their assault. Totally different situation.

"One big difference is that the 1971 attack was meant to oppose, not support, the sitting president, Richard Nixon. Another is that the case remains cold. While the pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol in broad daylight, their faces captured by security cameras, their own social media feeds or witnesses with smartphones, the Weather Underground set the bomb in secret. Members were much harder to track down, since they lived together in small cells under false identities."
Those attacking the Capitol on January 6, 2021 have been hailed patriots by some sitting Republicans. These vandals shat and pissed in the Capitol and destroyed property. They erected a working gallows and threatened to hang the Vice President. Pres. Trump led them to believe they would be supported by the military and were doing the right thing. Despite extensive video footage, there are Republicans in Congress claiming the crowd was not violent, did not physically assault police and acted like ordinary tourists.
Democrats need to seriously analyze why so many middle class predominantly white and Christian citizens became so outraged they thought it was their patriotic duty to storm the Capitol and try to stop the counting of Electoral College votes. There were well educated individuals in that mob. It included former military and police. It might boil down to the deeply seeded racism, anti semitism and xenophobia that exists in the U.S. The most power hungry in the GOP realized, decades ago, how to use these hatreds and fears to their advantage. The playbook is an old one.

@phranny saidLet's see,,,,govt building, attack on govt, many many similarities, But, totally different situation?????. Don't get you there....unless you discount the similarities. Yeah, then, taking out the similarities, I guess it would be 'totally' different.

You libs are so unbelievable. You will milk and massage any facts at your whim to come up with a really fine sculpture.
Help....
Phranny, you need to stick to just telling us all about yourself, like you do a few clicks back, where you say "I" 7 times in 12 lines.
Why am I here!!?!!, speaking of 'I'.
@averagejoe1 saidNon-sequitur, just like your rant about the "Weather Underground".

The only connection is this.
As the article states, "As recent events have borne out, the federal government often underreacts to perceived security threats from the right and overreacts to those coming from the left."
