@earl-of-trumps saidWell, all I can say is: very confusing. You should have used 1 $ sign, instead of 2.
Where the TRUCK do you see 8 billion? I wrote "over a $$Billion."
"a". What did they teach you in rat sewer school about the meaning of "a"?
That being said... yeah, maybe I should have read better.
🙈
@no1marauder saidjeezus, I just went thru this. I did not say $$Billions, I clearly said "a $$Billion".
Your research techniques need work. The number is there clearly labelled as "Net Assets" under "Black Lives Matter". The page is numbered "15" at the bottom; my bad.
Granted, the date of this balance sheet is June 30, 2019 and BLM had an explosion of donations in 2020 after the George Floyd killing i.e. about $90 million as Mott's article stated of which only $8.4 was actually spent. That still makes your claim that BLM is worth "billions" as nonsense.
I got that information from another article, not this one I have posted in this thread.
The article I speak of I have posted in here before, and the $1 billion figure I was simply recalling.
@sonhouse saidDEFLECTION! You have become a true expert at this type of avoidance.
@Earl-of-Trumps
But it is ok for Trump to beg for money from his base which goes directly to Donald Trump and not an organization.
So far over 200 MILLION donated by his duped base.
Hypocrite.
I dare say BLM has more power right now than Donald Trump, and are lot more disturbing to America.
EDIT to add: If you think I will defend Trump for ripping people off, you think WRONG

@no1marauder saidIt's not an issue for me, if that is what you are hinting at.
In what way? Why is a black woman buying real estate such a problem for you or for Fox Business?
I'll grant you that if there was some evidence that BLM paid her an exorbitant salary, then it might be an issue for those who contributed to BLM. But so far that is not the case.
She is an admitted Marxist living like the enemy Capitalists. that was my point.

I might be wrong but there were several fraudsters that tried to make money from BLM. They should be in jail.
I think it's funny though the politicians telling corporations to "stay out of politics" publicly on Fox news are also gladly accepting huge checks from them behind the curtain.

@earl-of-trumps saidActually, she isn't. Apparently her income is from books, speeches, some salary from a progressive organization and some type of movie deal. None of that would be considered what a "capitalist" does which is practice "capitalism" i.e.
It's not an issue for me, if that is what you are hinting at.
She is an admitted Marxist living like the enemy Capitalists. that was my point.
"Capitalism is an economic system in which private individuals or businesses own capital goods. "

Marx himself got income from his books, of course.

@earl-of-trumps saidBLM doesn't have anywhere near a billion dollars in assets and any article claiming it did was full of crap.
jeezus, I just went thru this. I did not say $$Billions, I clearly said "a $$Billion".

@no1marauder saidper the article I posted...
Do you know the difference between 2019 and 2020?
It's tiresome knocking down bad faith accusations that other posters are "lying" made incessantly by certain posters on this site. Mott is one of the worst offenders.
At any rate, those figures (which I had not seen) hardly shown that BLM is "worth billions" as Earl claimed.
"This marks the first time in the movement’s nearly eight-year history that BLM leaders have revealed a detailed look at their finances. "

Your thousand currents or whatever link is irrelevant.
@mott-the-hoople saidHardly. Thousand Currents is the "fiscal sponsor" of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation:
per the article I posted...
"This marks the first time in the movement’s nearly eight-year history that BLM leaders have revealed a detailed look at their finances. "

Your thousand currents or whatever link is irrelevant.
"Under IRS requirements, any charitable funds donated to a non-profit using a fiscal sponsor are first given to the fiscal sponsor, which then doles out the money in the form of grants to the non-profit.
For example, when you donate to the Black Lives Matter movement, you are directed to its fundraising partner ActBlue. Then, ActBlue distributes the money raised to Thousand Currents, which is then granted to Black Lives Matter."

Thus the audit I cited was an accurate rendering of BLM's total assets as of June 30, 2019.

@wildgrass saidThere are two other women involved, yes.
I might be wrong but there were several fraudsters that tried to make money from BLM. They should be in jail.

the righties have their scourge in the leadership at NRA (Wayne LaPierre) and the lefties have theirs at BLM.
And just as an aside, in my state, Massachusetts, what the leadership did with funding at "Mothers Against Drunk Driving"
was damm near criminal, just not quite. Two leaders got hugely rich, one exercising the golden parachute option
to put the salt in the wound. crimminy.
