Apart from sailing I am not sure much intelligence is needed in a lot of sports. I think sports that are expensive to take up seem to have more intelligent participants. This probably leads to the sometimes unpopular idea that intelligence is genetic, intelligent parents get better jobs and can afford to get their little cherubs tennis lessons.
