You just don't want it to have been violated. Same with Marauder. They suppress Meta speech. You got an exception, do you? I don't think Benjamin Franklin wrote in an exception. You need to huddle with Maruader.

@AverageJoe1 saidDr. Zoidberg?
This is a Reuters report. This is anti-free speech. Will y'all continue to censor ahead of the election??
I would like for Sonhouse to give us his studied observation on this, it being a blatant violation of the Constitution , First Amemdment. Shouse does not truck with violators of the Constitution. The WH is, in effect, in alliance with a corporation.

Kamala will have a CNN interview, but for some reason cannot do it without having her gabby running mate in tow. Can she not speak on her feet, or sitting down for that matter? You all know that this does not bode well for a president.
You would all vote for a dead dog before you will vote for Trump....you will let our country go down the tubes because of your dislike of Trump. I don't like him easy....but I like the country.
I will be prepared, all set up with protected assets, safe havens, buttons ready to push, no matter which one wins. I suggest you all get good advice.

@vivify saidBecause no law was passed censoring the Hunter Laptop story?
No, they didn't "violate the Constitution". There's no law saying the government can't put pressure on companies to act.
That said, it is a good discussion to bring up regarding government interference and how much pressure is the government allowed to impose on private business. There's arguments for or against what Biden did.
If you believe that Biden overstepped his bounds, it's fine to feel that way. But I'm not aware of any laws broken when Biden did so.
It was election meddling. I thought you democrats hated election meddling?
Not if it helps a democrat, right? Then election meddling is good.
It was Zuck's choice to election meddle the way Biden wanted him to.
This more than just a free speech issue. This is about election meddling at Biden's request to help Biden steal the election.
Now imaging Trump becomes POTUS again and leans on Musk to censor anything Trump finds unfavorable to him on X and Musk chooses to comply out of free choice. Then you find out later Trump coerced him to do so by threatening to sign a bill into law repealing section 230. You fine with that?
No law was passed to censor anything. Trump raped an intern and gets away with it because he says it is democrat disinformation. Republicans take control of both the house and Senate. Every supreme court pick he makes is a shoe in.
Still cool with that?

What is actually alleged?
Suppose some nut was posting on FB that you should drive 80 MPH around grammar schools. Would it be an unconstitutional infringement of freedom of speech if a local official texted Z and asked him to remove such posts?
@Metal-Brain saidReread my post. I said no laws were broken. I didn't say it was okay. I even said thinking Biden overstepped his bounds was a legitimate way to feel. So why are you ranting?

And no Trump supporter has the right to accuse anyone of election interference. Trump pressured a Georgian official to "find votes" and change the outcome in his favor, and incited a violent insurrection to stop the transfer of power to Biden. The words "election interference" should never leave your mouths.

@Mott-The-Hoople saidThat's not all that happened, and you know it.
what is wrong with Trump asking to find legally cast votes?
Trump harassed that official despite the official telling Trump multiple times that he was wrong about his claims. Trump's exact words during the call:
https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/georgia-phone-call-trump-indictment-b2393972.html
I know this phone call is going nowhere other than, other than ultimately, you know — Look ultimately, I win, okay?
The purpose of the call was to intimidate the official into changing the results of the election. That's why criminal charges were filed against Trump.

@no1marauder saidI did not say coercion was used on Zuck. I made up a hypothetical scenario in which Trump does it and gets away with it. Biden set the precedent. Trump will just follow that precedent since he knows he can abuse his power in the same way or even worse. Do you still want to condone government arm twisting big tech to censor the truth?
What "coercion" was used against Zuckerberg when he was encouraged by some government officials not to spread COVID misinformation that might have and probably did have deadly consequences?

Zuck censored the truth. That is why he had to express regret. Biden had him censor the truth about Hunter's laptop to election meddle. If Biden gets away with this Trump will do far worse when he gets another term because he will know nobody can stop him.
Zuck has been hauled in front of congress several times after he said he would not censor on facebook. Then all of a sudden he flip flopped and turned into the censor king. He was coerced. He was threatened with unwanted regulation of facebook. If he cooperates he can keep his social media near monopoly.
