Let's fill a Red Hot Pawn General Forum contributor authored treasure chest with (first word letter/alphabetically sequenced if at all possible) aphorisms which reflect the wit and wisdom, depth of insight and humour of our collective creativity. Thanks.
What's with all the quotes from outside? As originally purposed, I don't imagine there would be a need for misattributions or Ralph Keyes' "Rules of Misquotation". This last is a section of his book "Nice Guys Finish Seventh", btw.

"Aphorism: An aphorism is a concise statement that is made in a matter of fact tone to state a principle or an opinion that is generally understood to be a universal truth. Aphorisms are often adages, wise sayings and maxims aimed at imparting sense and wisdom. It is to be noted that aphorisms are usually witty and curt and often have an underlying tone of authority to them. Example: Upon seeing the shoddy work done by the employee the boss told him to “either shape up or ship out”.http://literary-devices.com/content/aphorism.... "Aphorism: A pithy observation that contains a general truth, such as, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”. http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/aphorism

A) "A man's curiosity is the offspring of knowledge and the father of wisdom." kiki46
Yes, Suzi. "A)" was "contributor authored"; those that have followed so far are attributed to published authors. Intent is/was to encourage [not mandate] creativity. Tightly structured formats often become straight jackets which stifle creativity.
"In the school of life there are many principles." -kiki46 Thankfully we have the freedom and latitude here to choose.
I hope you will contribute a few aphorisms of your very own and appreciate your good will. Thanks.
