Listen to my words.......
Other kids out their feel left out and neglected, Good Charlotte band members were too when they were young. They are trying to tell other listeners that they are not the only ones.

Plus, I think Maroon 5 ARE better with songs but Good Charlotte are just their to help other youngings. I classified them as soft-punk ...[text shortened]... sticks and stays.

PS.
Im getting the hang of writting long and creative postsπŸ˜²πŸ˜΅πŸ˜€
I have nothing more I can say to you Jim. If you really believe that pile of manure you've just spouted, then you are clearly derranged in the same way dj2becker is over in the spiritual forum. Stop believing the trash they've been selling you and go in search of something you know and understand under your own steam.

The one announcing their demise would bring sweet music to my ears...

Perhaps Nevermind might have made the cut if it hadn't committed the ultimate punk sin of actually selling a sh^tload of copies? If it had sold 10K rather than 10 million, it would be everybody's favourite 'underground cult classic'.πŸ˜‰

Nah. It's not the commercial success which rained upon them which left them off the list. It's the fact that the album does nothing for me now and, to be honest, it did little for me then. At the time, I still preferred Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Slayer. πŸ™‚

I owe my musical "flowering" to bands like Pavement, Fugazi, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Nomeansno, Ween, Six Finger Satellite, Jesus Lizard and, of course, the almighty Sonic youth.

Dear Fellow readers,

Once again, Good Charlotte are very worthy for respect and are NOT bad people. They just look bad because of the "Rock n Roll" expression were they take drugs and pick up bawds all the time.
Good Charlotte are not like them, they hardly use any offensive lyrics so to me, I would classify them as Soft Punk. I mean, what would y ...[text shortened]... aught you that Good Charlotte are unlike the other punkees and rockers.

Regards,

Jimmy

Actually, Joel Madden (lead singer) used to be a drug addict. "I got out of control with drinking and drugs. I could get unlimited alcohol and drugs (they're everywhere on the road), I really got out of control with partying." He used to get into quite a bit of fights whenever somebody made a comment about him, his friends, or band. He said he would wake up not knowing what had happened.

And both Joel and Benji Madden (guitar) were alcoholics (but I've always been told that once you're an alcoholic, you're always one).

fair enough. i have to admit i haven't listened to it in ages, and am not really inclined to, but back then i did like most of it. I still think it was a great album, it's just i've been over-exposed to it. But it would be a great intro to real music for young Jim.

Jim,

if you want fairly contemporary stuff, why not try Isis, for example? their album Panopticon came out last year, and an earlier one Oceanic is even better. Or Mogwai - Young Team is a good album.
