i just recently signed up for an account on rhp. in many ways i like the site but in other ways i find some flaws. like how its immpossible to stop cheaters or at how many people will attack your posts. i ...[text shortened]... ere quite unfriendly.
but what do you guys think? do you agree or disagree with the article?
You pay your money, you take your chances.
In every forum there are strong and weak, some you like, some you hate and some you wish were dead.
If you don't like it then don't participate.
If you want peace and love your neighbour crap join either Clan 24578 or Clan 24601.
I think your attitude to this site stinks - this is definately the way to make friends 😕
sasquatch672 you suck, not only your rating but your attitude!
NightKnight blundered badly in the begining but since then his played a flawless game... just seems a bit fishy!Game 5860535
Maybe you should just go back to Playchess.com and hope they don't ban you again.
this was most funny:
"Another thing which makes GameKnot superior to RHP is that GK's analysis boards are actually there to--shock, horror--help you play better chess. RHP's do not disallow illegal moves, so if one makes one by accident one has to reverse it by hand. It also doesn't recognize the principle of en passant capture. Instead, every time this comes about, you have to back up to your opponent's last move, bring your opponent's pawn forward one square (rather than two) and then capture. It's enormously frustrating for someone like myself who wants to just play chess without wasting time."
being allowed to make illegal moves when analysing is actualy quite usefull imo.
reversing an illegal move u made: 1 extra click (how often does this happen? if u can play decently i guess not much)
analising an en passant capture: 1 extra click (how often does this happen?)
clicking an extra time is "enormously frustrating" haha😀

I cannot see my "fingerprints" on that page - I would not have passed the opportunity to talk about a certain USCF "GM" who is 1200 OTB who goes about saying people "lack chess knowledge". Coming to think of it there are no posts that this USCF "GM", has demonstrated "chess knowledge". How very odd. The 9th wonder of the world?

you start thinking: "what if I somehow got my knight up there, what could I do with it?" but because the board doesn't allow 'illegal moves', you're not only forced to move that knight 4 times to land it there 'legally', but also the opponent's king 4 times back and forth to create the tempi, AND make sure it lands on it's original square on the last dummy-move.
8 moves with complications, when one single 'illegal move' would've done the trick.
then you realize you have a pawn endgame, with all the beef needing calculation 10 very simple moves ahead. do you want to move them 'legally', or just skip right into the critical part 'illegally'?

"Most GK top rated users" would be more precious though.
It would not be so easy to find player with 2300+ GK rating who don`t use engine.
