Unbelievable.
Again you miss the point. Being a jerk and acting unlawfully are not the same thing. Your grounds for justification of the police's actions are based on your dislike of the pastor.

He was acting unlawfully. He was at a state border crossing and refused to cooperate. Next time you travel starman you do the same and let us know how it works out.
(you didn't watch the video, did you?)

I did and unless someone who actually knows the law well enough to pick through the video ascertains what did and did not constitute unlawful action we're left with our moral opinions. It is of no surprise to me that you think refusing to cooperate justifies being tasered and assaulted. And I say again that your justification for that is based on your dislike of the man, not his actions in law.

Do the following Constitutional rights not apply at State Border checkpoints......if that is where this actually took place?

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." - 4th amendment of the US Constitution

Make up your mind - either you go by the above or you get rid of it!

Do you believe they would have pulled the same stunt on either a high profile criminal or even a lawyer.....nope, me neither. They just assumed they would get away with it against a simple pastor!!!!!1

Lets face it; the police made an horrendous error and will have to pay for it. I hope the pastor gets millions of dollars.

Unbelievable. Anyone who looks at this video and sides with him is insane.
Whether it was unlawful or not does not change the fact that the police acted like the thugs they are sworn to protect the general public against.

Seeing you miss the point here time and time again makes me worried for the people around you when you start aiming that shiny gun of yours...

Many of you are missing the point. This is what i posted earlier of what the pastor describes of his actions :-

Anderson tells New Times he's been doing a lot of traveling in recent years through California, Arizona and Texas, and passed through Border Patrol checkpoints "hundreds" of times without any trouble. But about a year and a half ago, he says, he made the decision he would no longer answer any questions at the checkpoints.

"I decided, 'You know what? I have the right to travel without being searched and without being questioned,'" he says.

Until this week, agents at the checkpoints never made too big of a deal over his passive resistance.

"Usually they let me go after I refused -- that happened many times. Once they held me for 20 minutes," he says.

We asked why, once he realized cops were going to break his vehicle windows, did he not roll down the windows and end the game?

"I was protecting my vehicle from an unlawful inspection," he says.

This is not an "innocent pastor" who is one day travelling and met by border patrol agents. This is someone who has deliberately set on this course of action like a crooked lawyer in the hope of winning damages.
This could go all the way to the Supreme Court but it would be very hard for the court to find in favour of someone who has pre-meditated of not even answering questions.

Which court would like the scenario where people can't even answer questions to law enforcement? Ever got to an airport and they asked what something in an X-ray scan was and you have to take out your keys or whatever? What would this man do in such a situation? This guy is like those little fellas who suddenly rebel against paying taxes and baricade themselves at home.

I'm not missing any point, you are. The police didn't do anything wrong.

You clearly don't have the judgement to be a mod.
Hahaha, yeah, because mods need to understand American Border Patrol protocols and laws...

hahaha no, because common sense is involved and anyone watching the 30 minute vid of the idiot at the border can't possibly be sympathetic towards his behaviour unless they're a witless lunatic.

I'm sorry, showing sympathy to someone who gets tasered and assaulted means you're a witless lunatic? qwah? And what does that have to do with common sense anyway, it's a moral judgement, not a common sense one.

I think it's pretty clear that anyone who doesn't have sympathy for this course of action would probably be a vicious, right-wing thug intent on confusing punishment and justice... oh, wait...

Let me guess, you support the border patrol unquestionably because they defend your patriotic values. Who cares about excessive force when they're keeping the aliens away?

Another piece of the puzzle:

&feature=channel

This guy goes out a looks for confrontations and ways to antagonize the police so he can exercise his "rights".

He's a real hero.

Sam the Sham hasn't yet realized that this incident has nothing to do with the pastor's motives.

Let me put this in simple terms for him:
A police officer tased a citizen who was not posing any immediate danger without issuing a warning.

No matter how many times we say it, Sammy just doesn't want to 'get it'.
