Seems like a cool product, but we'll see what happens in the next 6 or so months.

This may well be the first Apple product I ever purchase...
Why does Steve Jobs always seem like he's got to take a crap?

Never mind, I found pricing.
WTF? Two distinct versions: A WiFi and a 3G version? Why not both? The netbook guys are probably sighing in relief.

Why 600?
499 USD < 310 GBP. Ok, you need to buy some applications, but it doesn't seem outrageously expensive.

They haven't released UK pricing but history suggests it will be 50% more than the US prices, plus I imagine there would be a bit extra to pay for a decent warranty. Maybe £600 is a bit of an over estimate but I reckon it won't be far off what we'd pay for one over here.
Originally posted by Daemon SinI see... 16GB is indeed very small for a media product. A few HD films and you're out.

The only way to get your music and video on to it is by syncing with iTunes, which means it will never be a fully stand-alone device - you'll always need a Mac or PC to sync/back-up to.

I'm wondering how good RHP could look on one. A full-size chess board with 3D pieces...? 🙂

I've been looking to build one, but it works out pretty expensive, so this could be The One.
Sorry, this is just so much style over substance. It browses the web, it acts like an e-reader, it's not as functional as a laptop I can get for the same money. What's the point?
And why is Steve Jobs, a man with such serious aesthetic design credentials, unable to dress himself in anything other than clothes his mum picked out for him?
Originally posted by CrowleyBare in mind that, much like all the other iProducts, the iPad doesn't currently support Flash so video recipes are a no go.

What interests me is that Apple, under all the media hype about touch technology, have ditched Intel and slipped in their own Apple processor for the iPad.
