I was thinking about joining the army, but Im not sure
so Im asking your opinions
Do you think the army life is a good option?
The coffee that they give us,
D7
They say is mighty fine,
It's good for cuts and bruises
G
And tastes like iodine.
Chorus :
C G
I don't want no more of army life,
D7 G D7 G
Gee, but I want to go, Gee, but I want to go home.
The biscuits that they give us,
They say are mighty fine,
One fell off a table
And killed a pal of mine.
The clothes that they give us,
They say are mighty fine,
Me and my buddy,
Can both fit into mine.
They treat us all like monkeys
And make us stand in line,
They give you fifty dollars a week
And take back forty-nine.
The girls at the service club
They say are mighty fine,
Most are over eighty
And the rest are under nine.

On the other hand, you'll be paid next to nothing for potentially putting your life on the line or even dying. And if you do happen to die, your government will try and minimize your death, instead of treating you with the respect and honour you deserve, since they are afraid too many white folks living in gated communities watching their big screen tv's will change their mind about overseas wars and vote for the other guys.
It comes down to one question. Who are you joining the army for? Yourself, or your country? If it's your country, i'd suggest taking a different route since your country only sees the army as tools and shields.
If it's for yourself, then have at 'er.

They tend to be a little biased though, don't you think?

Also ask lots of questions about signing bonus's, they won't tell you unless you are persistant. My final bit of advice, join the navy or air force, they are less likelt to see action
