@Suzianne

You are sounding judgmental.

Being judged by females who have never met you and know nothing about you.

This too is what it means to be a man.

There are plenty exactly like you in the red state where I live, trust me.

Seen one, seen 'em all.

If you say so.

What over 20 years of marriage has taught me...

Better to just say, 'of course you are right' than to fight it.

What is it like being a man? "Be a man", we hear as to encourage men to be a certain way. "A man's got to do what a man's got to do." As a woman, I can't help wondering: what is it like being a man? What do men feel is expected of them other than just being human?
Taking responsibility for your actions, looking after your family as best you can...other than that, a lot more Gamete production than I would've guessed.

After 20 years of marriage I would think you've learned to talk things over amicably.

Letting things build up without saying anything can cause problems.

Good luck with that. The ability to discuss something with another person requires coming from a family with a functional structure. Much of the way we deal with things are based on what we grew up under.

So you learn to live with what you married.

I am sorry, but I couldn't live that way.

Without knowing better about marriage I would say when things get complicated: ride out the storm.

Then you would be forced to get a divorce.

The only way to remain married is to not get a divorce.

And find a way to eventually get the other person to learn.

It took going into a lot of credit card debt with my wife making the payments for her to figure out not spending as much money. Of course I should have known it was an issue I had to both pay off her college loans and credit card debt when we go married.

But money is just money. It used to create a lot of issues, now I just do not care about fixing it. It looks like now she is.

We have a combined bank account so she was just making the monthly payments but for the most part with money that I bring in.

Being a man means knowing you can say that about us and get applauded for it, but if we dare even hint at something similar about you, we are horrible sexists who deserve nothing but cancellation and if possible being put on a register.

Even RepublAmUhrica has evolved so far that divorce is legal there.
