The Constable, for some bizarre reason, feels it necessary to shove or bump Granny, which sets her off. His actions are unprofessional and insane. The idea that he couldn't handcuff her (which was unnecessary anyway; she said "I'll sign t ...[text shortened]... ally need to take these things away from untrained, hostile bumpkins like this "officer".

I think the officer could have handled this alot easyer by letting her sign the ticket when she asked nicely. But then again, she was already under arest at that time.
Comparison:
You cant rob a store, get caught, then say: "Oh well, ill just give you back your stuff and we are cool".
Maybe the cop is a pr*ck and wanted to taser some idiot and then he found one....good for them🙂

I'm not only talking about these random, unarmed civilians being tasered all over the place, but then we have idiot rednecks actually defending these deplorable actions.
No thanks, I can check out the Grand Canyon on Google Earth.
the states are huge, i've only spent time in two of them but i wouldn't right off the whole country just because of a few backwards thinking imbeciles.

Nah....old lady had it coming. What was the officer supposed to do, hit her? Wrestle with her two feet away from cars doing 60 mph?
Silly old fool got what she asked for.
Originally posted by no1marauderI agree. A 72 woman being shoved could have easily fallen and broken her hip. He was NOT wanting to protect and serve but instead to do her physical and bodily harm. While technically he had the legal authority to arrest her. I think he used poor self control and helped to provoke the situation beyond what was necessary. An animal shouldn't be treated this inhuman manner either.

This is the reason why police officers get killed. They over react. They are supposed to act professional. This is no better than what you might expect from a criminal.
She was clearly wrong in not signing the citation, but she was not a professional. Show respect to police officers sure, but when did the act of showing respect and kindness to elders dissipate? I won't argue about it, I just know I'm right. There was a better and more professional way.
Originally posted by CrowleyI'm an American, and actions like this make me want to agree. But don't over react, this could happen where you live as well. There are Jerks everywhere. Even here take a look around.

Good point. Tasering was probably the most professional action here.
