Tasers are misused. Debate all you want about this case but the fact is that cops abuse people with their Tasers all the time. I am sure police have to go through some type of class to learn how to calm people down in certain circumstances. Maybe that would have been a better solution. She should have just signed the ticket anyway. When a cop clocks you at 15 over, you might as well pay the ticket and be done with it. Why was she arguing with him?

I suppose in this case, the police officer did not expect the rowdy old lady to act the way she did, it probably thew him off. She did seem to be volatile and capable of running out into traffic. I'm not saying she deserved to be tasered, but then again, I wasn't in his shoes.

I've got the answer to this problem. 50K volts is way overboard in this situation. Maybe 5K volts would have been appropriate for granny, or even less. Laser guns should be designed to deliver different voltages from the same gun for different circumstances. Just a little tickle may have been enough for granny.
