I saw a lot of movies in 2007. I see about 3-4 a month.
No Country was outstanding and is true to the book. Amazing that there is no musical score in it; yet you don't even notice due to it's intensity.
For plot I really enjoyed Michael Clayton.
Day Lewis made There will be Blood more than memorable.
But the best I saw was a French flick entitled The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. What an amazing story and the editing and directions is as god as it gets.

I'd also add 12:08 East of Bucharest, although you might have to know a bit about more Romania's relationship with recent history to enjoy that one.
Other great films were The Lives of Others and Eastern Promises.
(do I see a pattern here?)

Of them I have seen three;
Blood diamond
Hairspray
and Happy feet
Hairspray was a disapointment. Happy feet was kinda cute and the kids liked it. Blood Diamond I saw the other night on DVD and I thought it was everything a film should be, I'd pick that one!

Transformers, no doubt.
What's so good about it?
Everything, It's got action, humor, great special effects, a good story line and excellent dialogue.
