Aluminium was first isolated in Denmark ... the aluminum spelling was proposed by the British scientist Humphry Davy who had earlirer produced an iron-aluminium alloy, so neither metal or spelling originated in the USA
A metal ornament removed from the tomb of Chou-Chu, a military leader in third century China, was found to be 85% aluminum, but how it was produced remains unknown.
Aluminum was "first produced" by Hans Christian Oersted at Copenhagen, Denmark in 1825. This aluminum was produced by heating aluminium chloride with potassium metal, the aluminum produced was very impure.
The first pure aluminum was produced on February 23, 1886, by Charles Martin Hall, of Ohio, United States. In 1888 he joined with Alfred E. Hunt, an experienced metallurgist, to form the Pittsburgh Reduction Company (Alcoa Inc).
Humphry Davy called the metal alumium which has the -ium ending adopted for most metallic elements. But later he decided to change the name to aluminum, and this name was picked up by Americans. However, the British word smiths where unhappy that this did not follow the rules of English so invented the name aluminium.

Very funny. I have only two qualms with it, though:
Baseball has been played outside of America's borders since 1969. There is currently a MLB franchise in Toronto, Canada (the Blue Jays). 65% of ALL Americans are against the massacre that's taling place in Iraq. But we seem powerless to do anything against the Bush/Cheney kingdom. What's even worse is that the majority of politicians (who are SUPPOSED to be representing the American people) have been BOUGHT OFF by the right-wing movement! :'(
Only the STUPID PEOPLE continue to support Bush in America.

At 7.2% ABV it'll put most Bud drinkers into a coma, but if you enjoy the finer things in life you'll find it's very drinkable for a barley wine. My highest recommendation.
Deary, deary me...
