And this one is so funny, you don't even need to see the show to get it, but it's a bit long to post:

"The Jews?"
"No, the dentists. Did you know we have the highest suicide rate of any profession?"
"Is that why it's so hard to get an appointment?"
This is the only one I found vaguely amusing.

I have to say I'm with Starmann on this.
I haven't ever actually met anyone who likes Bruce Springsteen. Or admitted it. He's often a figure of fun, if mentioned at all.
And Seinfeld is identical to Will and Grace and every other formulaic, unfunny american sitcom.
Gimmme a break. Like I said, you need to watch it for a bit.

Did anyone like Northern Exposure?
Exy is the guy to ask this of.

Edit! I'm thinking of the wrong show. I used to watch NE... and it was pretty good, but I can't remember a thing about it.

There's no hugging. There's no nice people. Nobody ever wins. There's no moral to the story. People don't learn, they just keep on making mistakes.
tsk.
Shame on you Varg. Go and ask Starrman if there's an extra seat aboard the USS Unfunny, and fly off to Unfunnia to watch Mork and Mindy re-runs.
Springsteen--Just because one's persona involves making music ofr the 'common man' does not excuse one for making boring music. The 'common man', whoever he is, is much less boring than you.
Seinfeld--I haven't watched it in several years. Bits of it were funny IIRC, but it was rather repetitive. They cast the wrong person to play the tragic figure who was George Costanza. In principle, a more George-focused show would have been much funnier. $1m to Seinfeld per episode towards the end is off the proverbial heezy as well.
