I believe chessh is another web designer from Iran. He is also a very good (legitimate) chess player.
I think the theory of having your "alter ego" win games against real players is because if you make an account and all it has is losses, the rating will be very low, and you will get fewer and fewer points each time you beat it. If, however, you beat other players, then the rating will stay high, and you can continually use that account to boost your own ratings.
Regardless, we'll see if he gets his comeuppance when real 1600+ ranked players take up his challenge.

Originally posted by CrowleyI think so too. Read his profile. If he is Ioan Rees, and I have no reason to doubt this, then he is listed on the Fide ratings playing in Wales. His rating as of today is 2179 (as opposed to his profile several weeks ago).
Well, I've played Cymro and he unceremoniously kicked my ass (although that's probably not that hard to accomplish...)
I'm pretty sure he's legit.
cymro is a legitimate and strong player.
there are plenty of cheats out there who create alter egos to beat repeatedly e.g. the appropriately named "tosser" who, happily contributes to the site by buying a pawn star and then creates an opponent he can beat (and thus disrespecting the community he supports) again.. and again.. and again. my favourite of his is the inspiring 1h4 a5 white resigns good one that. sad... very sad. these people deserve our pity. please don't lose sleep over this matter. chess is a beautiful game whether one wins gloriously or loses because you have the misfortune to play david tebbs π there are those amongst us who sadly miss the whole point completely... hopefully they'll grow out of it π
