We get Tunnocks Tea-cakes over here which are similar and lovely 🙂 As are Tunnocks Caramel Wafers.
It is true that a lot of the stuff we miss is still commercially available, or you can get it on the web, but in this instance the old saying
"They don't make it like they used to..." is definitely true.
To Varg: I'll send you Fruit Polos and even Fish and Chips in the post, if you'd be willing to send some of Hollands fine "produce" my way (I'll set up a dead letter drop!).
It's amazing though, I've lived across the road from a Fish and Chippie for nearly two years and I've only been in once. I used to have them once a week when I was a kid!

Battle of the planet bars, oh how i miss thee.
Although it wouldn't surprise me if they were banned cos of all the artificial colours, flavours and E numbers.. One in the morning kept me smiling all the way through the school day 😀
Does anyone remember "star dust"??? That really was like eating flavoured "Silver Spoon"!!!!

I just remember they had a paper wrapper that was damn hard to get off without leaving bits stuck to the bar (with 6 year old fingers anyway)..
They had pictures on the outside of the characters from the cartoon with the same name.
Stardust yes...also Stripers (a chewy bar) , floral gums (tasted like you were sucking soap) kop kops (2oz on the way to school), mojos 2 for a penny and caramac (still my favourite chocolate). Saturday when I got my spends were great...my comic (Misty..a scary comic...totally spoilt when they joined with Tammy though) a bottle of cream soda and a 20p mix.
