established practice and custom shows that as long as you draw attention to the change by saying 'fixed!' or equivalent (and the edited text meets other forum guidelines), it's acceptable. there are thousands of precedents.

You are wrong you are name calling in the text you changed using a word that is removed regularly. If it isn't, there are other steps one can take.
