OK, we all know country music will never be Bach. Nor will it ever be the Stones. And since they already know how bad it sucks, they had an ingenius idea to perpetuate this bastardization of art/music. Enter the likes of Shania Twain and honey while you're out there trying to sing, would you please shake yo' ass. Much obliged.

Doesn't the disdain towards ordinary people play a major part in the liking/disliking of Country Music ?
Isn't it true that the American Dream denies class differences and doesn't the American Dream hold the illusion that class differences can be overcome by everybody who is prepared to work hard and have a succesful career ?

Not neccesarily...you can take the boy out of the "country/ghetto", but you can't take the "country/ghetto" out of the boy no mater how successful they become
I can see where the conception that class differences cannot be overcome, for example: a case where a black doctor is pulled over for driving a mercedes benz and mistaken for a drug dealer...but for the most part, the American dream is no illusion and if you are willing to work hard, you can be successful...just ask the 100,000s of immigrants who come here daily....🙂
