that's a pretty big claim...name one royal who likes country music (I mean, by your strict definition of what constitutes country, ie bluegrass)...oh heck, by any definition at all...
BTW has anyone seen 'Deliverance'? that hillbilly kid with the banjo gave me the creeps...

Ok, you got me...I don't know any specific Royals, but I think Queen Elizabeth fancies country music as well as the Queen of the Netherlands...I could be wrong, but I heard this somewhere...basically, I meant that country music is loved world wide, even in Australia (ever hear od Keith Urban?...Aussie country singer who made it big in the US)....yea ...[text shortened]... e that around...but there are some...deep in Appalachia...good folks too until you cross them...
I would love to see them line dancing, rattling their jewelry .....
Originally posted by chancremechanicyou're right about country music being pretty big here in Australia. There's a big cm festival every year in Tamworth, New South Wales. It's not popular in the cities, but out in the bush, well it reminds me of that line in the Blues Brothers movie: "we've got both kinds of music - country AND western". There was a band floating around Melbourne a while back called The Bluegrassy Knoll (gedit?)...
