what worked for me, was chain smoking as fast as possible a pack of strongest brand available, throwing up a couple of hours and feeling immensely sick for the rest of the day. it was horrible.
took something like 5 years before I could even think of smoking without feeling sick. can't be healthy, but it certainly was effective.

GBS, your empathy and motives are pure as driven snow. Your reality read, though, is pathetic. A man behaves like a man, admits his
shortcomings and does whatever needs to be done in private. Clever boys and professional clowns masturbate good intentions in public.

This time I really mean it!
But here's the rub: Giving up smoking and drinking at the same time is next to impossible. Your first effort has to be to eliminate all forms of alcohol from your life.. completely. After a few months of sobriety, when you feel ready for the next challenge, launch your campaign to eliminate tobacco.
You seem to be a tenacious, determined guy. What more do you need to get to where you want to be?

Palynka and Starrman are partly right. I do lack a lot of willpower when it comes to certain things. Of course, what I've told everyone here is about 1/4 of the full story so there's more to it than what I've just written.

Wow. Those are some creative suggestions but I don't really want to torture myself as a means to an end. Has anyone tried Champix or Zyban?
