Why doesn't Emu steak taste like chicken?
P-
Interesting aside: Pigs and humans eat a very similar diet, and have a similar body chemistry, people taste like pork.

Ice has most likely never tasted EMU in his life - he may have tasted ostrich which more like is exported from South Africa where as Emu is what they call similar birds down here an Australia. It is an Australian bird.

Phlabibit asks if Emu tastes like chicken - no it doesn't but that would be the nearest equivalent. Where Duecer's argument fails is that ostrich or emu has very little fat, that is why they run at over 40 mph. So when you are cooking this mean, like kangaroo which again is very lean, or to take it to its extreme, deer, it is usually served cooked fairly rare, otherwise it is fairly tough.
In NZ and Australia, emu is served at most restaurants and all I can say, it is not in the least like chicken, but like emu. Similar but completely different.
I trust that this makes you wiser - even I am confused now. 😀 😞

Down at an english fair one evening I was there
When I heard a showman shouting underneath the flair
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
There they are all standing in a row
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head
Give them a twist a flick of the wrist
That’s what the showman said
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands my wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball, roll a bowl a ball
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts (they’re lovely)
There they are all standing in a row (one, two, three, four)
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head (and bigger)
Give them a twist a flick of the wrist
That’s what the showman said
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands my wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch (all together now)
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch (harmony)
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball, roll a bowl a ball
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
