No, it's got games and stuff on it, but then you could just register on a games site for that. Having friends is generally a prerequisite to a successful facebook experience
But let's just say (for the sake of conversation) that I actually had a friend. Then what? What do you do? Send each other pointless messages, or something?

I'm not sure how to find them. That's another thing, if you have friends, they will continually spam you with crap games/quizes and other lame functions
Alright, what's the difference between Facebook and Myspace? Are they pretty much the same thing?

- It turned out to be the communication channel that works best to stay in touch with my best friend at the moment
- I found an application that lets you train kanji (Japanese characters) in a fun way. Unfortunately I haven't used it for quite a while now...
- It lets me share pictures very easily, both with Facebook friends and people who are not on Facebook (although only people who are on Facebook can write comments directly in the album)
- I installed a few games, some of which I really enjoy (e.g. Scrabble or Scramble), although they are terrible time-wasters, too; and I can compete with other people, mostly from RHP
- This summer I gave a presentation at a conference, and I used Facebook to post some of my thoughts and got some interesting comments and discussion
- Someone asked me to be added as a friend because we were the two only fans of the Auryn-Quartett on Facebook. One thing I got out of that was that he recommended a CD that I ordered and that is excellent.
- I have been chatting too much with rbmorris and wormwood...
