Why don't you try putting on several pounds and see how tough that is for you.

Maybe it's just as tough for them to lose a few pounds.
If it really bothered me enough I'm sure I could put on weight. But it should be harder to put on weight than to take it off - it takes more effort to eat than not to eat.

Unless you have a wife - dada ching!

I really like food. That's why I'm chubby. Being a stoner only adds to the feasting.

I share your likes. I decided to drop a few pounds for the new year and was somewhat surprised to find myself actually dreaming about FOOD! *Gasp*

I've never had dreams about food before, but in the last couple of weeks I've dreamt about being at a smorgasbord with lots of food around, but not being able to get at it; and stuff like that. How odd the mind works.

Have you ever been with a rotund lady?
It can be a wonderfully life-affirming experience.

They are often willing to do virtually anything (especially if you take reasonable care of yourself) to keep their man happy.

Quite right, too.

Why are fat people fat? Well, why isn't everybody perfect in every way????

Why aren't dumb people smart??? Why aren't immoral people moral???? Why aren't poor people rich???

Why do people waste time on chess instead of investing their money, working out, spending time with their family, saving orphans, helping cure cancer, traveling the world, participating in politics, finding true love etc....

Because the world isn't perfect. Its a fundamental truth.

If people eat to be happy, then let them. They obviously find more happiness in food than they do in other aspects of life so that's their perogative.

In the Beginning, God created man.

He created man in his own image, so everyone was running around looking identical, and living in harmony. It didn't take long before this got boring as hell.

So God decided to add a little variety to spice things up. He made some skinny, some fat, and some regular sized.

It took a little while but man finally realized they didn't look alike anymore, so they started forming little exclusive groups and clubs and started excluding anyone who didn't look just like them.

They harassed each other quite a bit and made fun of the other groups, but after a while this got boring to God as well, so He started making man in a variety of colors and made them speak different languages.

That did the trick!

End of story....... 😀

There will be always fat people. If everyone has the perfect body, I'm sure some would have a fat perfect body🙂

Everyone is 6 feet, 170-180 pounds in the world for example. All the 178-180 ppl are fat!

Fat birds are like mopeds.

They're fun when you're on one but you wouldn't want your mates to see you riding it.

i went without eating for a couple of days once and caught myself lying on the couch daydreaming about food.

For me when I am stressed I do not eat. This causes a problem because when a person is stressed their heart rate increases and they need more fuel to burn.

Other people do eat when they are stressed. The food is burnt as fuel but since so much fuel is being added the body can't process all of it and it becomes fat. Food is like a drug - it can cause somewhat similar feelings of euphoria that drugs can bring and thus people become addicted to food. When they are stressed they will eat (much like a person who drinks) for the feelings of relief.

I believe in America people are more stressed than in other parts of the world (for whatever reason) and since food is plentiful and constantly advertised then it seems natural that people here will tend to be overweight.

Of course their is a difference between being overweight and being obese. 150 years ago the ideal human form was plump since it was a sign that they had the money to eat well. In the modern world we place more importance on the 'ideal' 'Roman/Greek' physical form of an athlete and plump is considered somewhat slothful since we are expected to be active (and not idle as in previous centuries).

Basically it comes down to overall health. I believe as long as a person is healthy overall then it does not matter if their body is somewhat round. Of course if you are over 300 lbs (unless you are an American Football player or professional wrestler) then you need to take a hard look at your life/health choices because you are more likely to have seroius health problems in the future. Seroius health problems lead to finiancial issues which can lead to mental issues.

Nobody needs to be a marathon runner but physical activity of any kind on a regular basis (walking, riding a bike, swimming) can only be good for you in the long term and the chemical endorphins released from physical activity are far more powerful than any drug and will always make you feel happier - even if you are somewhat plump.
