Food for Thought

#1. All human beings, unlike barnyard chickens, are aware of the chopping block from the start. #2. Human beings are the only creatures

with an awareness of being alone. #3. Human beings are unable to appreciate any intellectual, spiritual or emotional satisfactions beyond

the levels they've already experienced, not at all unlike children of all ages who believe candy bars are still the greatest thing in the world.

#1 -- Awareness of death comes slowly, and unless it's experienced within one's family or circle of friends, it usually doesn't hit until middle to upper elementary school.

#2 -- You've obviously never lived next to someone whose dog was home alone all day. The noise would convince you that dogs and cats do know the difference between being alone and having companionship.

#3 -- What do you mean by appreciate (and by separating children from human beings)? This'll be easier to discuss if I understand it.

Might as well burn down my library if there is nothing in those books beyond what I already am? The word "Aha!" is in the language for a reason. Perhaps I misunderstand the point?
