I doubt it. I'd imagine that a healthy chunk, maybe half, of the UK population more or less agree with the government's hardline stance on immigration. Let the politicians and talking heads and vox pops battle it out. The BBC doesn't need one of its presenters sneering at maybe half the population/audience by suggesting that they support Nazi policies.

I say this as someone who is appalled by the UK government's plan and its rhetoric.

BBC news used to be trusted, it isn't anymore.

I think most are siding with the footballer. Everyone should have the right to criticize their own government, regardless of their job title.

Just because a contract is signed doesn't mean everything inside it is legal. You should know that.

It's interesting that on the BBC website (on a phone) it's the seventh story scrolling down while on sky news it's the first. Even RTE it's the second.

I never usually look at sky news but since Dive mentioned it.

Al Jazeera on the other hand you need a seriously strong thumb to find it. The best news outlet there is imo.

its difficult to obtain an unbiased viev in most media oulets in the uk.

About 18months ago I believe and after they cut his pay by 23%.

They are now allegedly offering to triple his pay to get him back.

Quite a “win for socialism and decency”
