Sometimes censorship is our only weapon against this scourge.
If your only weapon against bigotry and racism is censorship, then perhaps you should work on your weak debating skills.

The better the criticism, the more DSR would ignore it -- his most effective tactic, along with outright lies.

It wasn't Crowley vs DSR, for heaven's sake, it was DSR vs the world! Although in the end I came to view him as a performer -- and always more articulate than the run-of-the-mill shills that are so peculiarly attracted to the Debates forum.

Your debating skillz aren't particularly impressive. But you made me think twice about the New Deal, so I suspect with you it's a question of content poorly served by delivery. With the exception of the bear issue; there you're just wrong.

Quantity -- DSR only approached GBness in the run-up to the US presidential election; before that, he came a distant second.

Quality -- at least you could figure out what DSR was saying more than half the time.

i don't want to make a DSRism and start a thread and never respond just to watch you fight.

i do not agree, censorship is always against something undesirable. one will never censor someone one agrees with. the problem is that when we do start censoring, Mein Kampf for example, it sets up a precedent.

sure, the right to free speech cannot be applied to a work that deliberately incites to violence, but where do we draw the line, and who decides where to draw it.

i put forward the idea that DSR is quite a normal person but enjoys making all those threads just to spark a discussion, a discussion which he mostly will not attend. cause mayhem with minimum effort.

i picture DSR giggling every time he makes a new thread. the fact that he puts forward anti-liberal crap in my opinion is that there are a lot of liberals in the forums. i would like to catch him posting liberal material (maybe even "save the spotted owls" material, "make love not war"😉 in a conservative forum, that will confirm my theory.

Agreed. So why do you want to sacrifice everyone's rights in order to silence a handful of loony extremists?

Because that's the way Russ decided to run things. Period.

Please don't confuse this business venture with a democracy.

Ah, the good-old slippery slope fallacy. Reminds me of Poiana Brasov.

If not for DSR, RN, and GB, you would have anyone to bitch about.

I tend to think that allowing the crazy extremists to spew their nonsense, well that's the best way to make people realize how crazy they actually are. I mean, if a KKK grand dragon doesn't speak about his 'issues', he'll just sound like your average conservative white, middle class religious person. which is exactly how he wants to be seen btw. -but get him talking about mixed marriages, gay rights, gun control and whatnot, and you'll uncover the raving lunatic in no time.

sarcasm aside, I've never seen a creationist, neo-fascist, or a mac zealot give an inch to factual evidence. it simply doesn't happen. only rational people react to reasoning, and you don't reach an extremist mindset if you're even remotely rational.

DSR threads are pretty good. Its just that you don't agree with him that colors your opinion.

Just like I find myself shaking my head at yours.

But if GP enjoys putting up posts here.... thats fine. I find some of his threads to be interesting.....

As for enriching my life.. I don't think there will be any thread , in any of the forums which does so. Why have you discovered one that has?
